A Love Note to the College Grad

I've officially been a college graduate for a year now, and despite the fact that I absolutely LOVED my college experience, I'm very thankful to be an official graduate + member of society. Yeah, I miss my days of waking up 30 minutes before my 11:00 AM class, or going to the gym at 2:00 in the afternoon, or bopping around the college bars on a Wednesday night. I miss it, but I love where my path has taken me.

Ok I'll stop talking about me, let's talk about YOU.

So you're officially a college grad. Maybe you have had your post-grad job lined up for months, maybe you just landed one, maybe you have an interview this week, and maybe you haven't really begun the job hunting process.

The truth of it is that it really doesn't matter where you're at in the job hunt. Believe it or not, everyone has a different process and sequence of events as far as life goes. I sit back and look at all my friends, family, and so on, and I truly know nobody that did it all exactly the same.

Here's some comfort for you all: This life works out the way it's meant to. Sure, you might struggle with finances, inspiration, motivation, and you might feel lost at points. But even when you're lost, it's important to keep taking steps. Any direction is the right direction.

In the wise words of Hagrid from Harry Potter, "No good sitting worrying about it. What's coming will come, and we'll meet it when it does."

So, go with your gut. Take that job you've been dreaming of, or maybe take that job you are unsure of. Honestly, you could end up hating that job you thought you'd love, or end up loving that job you weren't very interested in. Don't do anything just because someone else is telling you to do it, or just because it sounds like good money, or just because you're bored.

Either way, if you follow your gut through it all, you'll end up doing things that keep you feeling inspired, impactful, and intentional.

I just kind of ran with my thoughts on this one, so hopefully my little soapbox moment resonated with someone.

I wish you the best of luck, best of love, best of life,

Kyndal Elise
