Catherine & Jason were on plan 87654567 in their COVID-19 wedding rescheduling process when they reached out to me about photographing their day. I think they booked me literally 3 weeks before the big day, and I'm SO thankful that they did! Not only are they beautiful humans that are so clearly in love, they are also the kindest and most caring people! Seriously such a treat to have gotten to work for them.
Evidence that they're great people: My car battery died right when I got to Iowa City for their first look lol. So, literally the very beginning of their wedding day timeline. Jason's father and Catherine's brother jumped in and tried their best to revive my car while I went and photographed the couple. Unfortunately my car battery was "dead dead" and needed replaced, so they let me ride with them to their ceremony location and were the most understanding people about the whole thing! It was only a matter of time before I would have car troubles on a wedding day, and I'm so thankful it happened during a point where it didn't set us back on our timeline! And of course SO THANKFUL it happened when I was working with such kind humans! Seriously could've been so so so so bad, thank goodness for life's timing!
One of my favorite memories from their day was their ceremony. A lot of ceremonies are traditional and follow a pattern, but these two truly made their ceremony their own. They wrote their own vows, but what really made it stand out was that they took the time to write thank you's and read them aloud to their families. It was so sweet and still gives me the feels thinking back on it!
Check out all my favorite moments from this wedding day, including two first looks: one where Catherine wore her traditional Chinese dress "Qi Pao", and a second in her white wedding dress!
