Courtney & I went to high school together, both attended Iowa State University, & now we're both trekking out into the young entrepreneur world. Courtney just recently launched her new website & accessories line called For Good.
For Good brings together sustainability & ethics to the world of fashion. What started as an internship in Nepal for Courtney, soon turned into a blog, and now into a small business. For Good features hair ties & scarves made out of recycled saris from Nepal. How cool is that? Not only are these accessories stinkin' adorable, but they're also sustainable.
Courtney is studying apparel design at ISU, and has had three different design internships to back up her education. All of these internships have been centered around sustainability & fair trade.
"One of my internships was in Nepal, where I got to meet the women who made our clothes & hang out with them everyday for the whole summer. I really just wanted to share what I had learned and am so passionate about, so I decided to start a blog, which soon became a brand as well -- because as a designer, I just can't NOT create!
I've learned & seen so much good & bad that the fashion industry can do, and wanted to inspire people to really think about their purchases and give them a more sustainable option!" -- Courtney
